Carta de presentación para la host family

Como much@s ya sabréis, uno de los muuchos pasos para ser au pair es realizar la carta de presentación. En ella, además de hablar sobre ti, tu vida, familia, gustos, aficiones, estilo de vida, etc, tendrás que explicar tu experiencia con los niños, por qué quieres ser au pair en USA (o en el país donde vayas a ser au pair), y algo que te haga destacar entre otras cosas. Es muy importante y esencial, ya que será, junto con algunas fotos y tu vídeo de presentación, lo que más destacará en tu perfil del AuPairRoom y te servirá para convencer a la familia y que ésta contacte contigo. Por supuesto, tendrá que estar escrita en inglés.
Como ya os he dicho en uno de mis anteriores posts, yo iba a organizar mi año au pair con otra agencia, y decidí cambiar a AuPairCare cuando ya tenía los primeros documentos preparados, por lo que ya tenía mi carta de presentación hecha, así que sólo tendría que cambiar algunos detalles como el por qué quiero ir a USA (en vez de a UK). 
Cuando me puse a hacer mi carta de presentación, no sabía ni por donde empezar, de hecho la primera carta que hice era demasiado corta. En mi opinión, cuanto más detalles pongas, mejor, así que la modifiqué y éste es el resultado (he omitido alguna información, en realidad mi carta es más larga). Espero que os sirva de ayuda :)

Dear host family

My name is Marta, I am 18 years old and I am from Spain. I live in a little flat in Valencia , a city situated on the mediterranean coast of the Iberian peninsula, with my mum, Amelia, and my lovely dog, Luna. My dad, Ricardo, lives in other little flat near of me, and my older sister, Andrea, who is 20 years old, lives with her boyfriend in a little village of Valencia. My parents are unemployed right now, but they had before worked as ______ and ______. 

I just finished my Bachillerato studies and I decided to do a year as au pair abroad. That is what I have wanted to do for a long time, so it is very important for me. I chose the USA, because I thought it is the better way to know a new culture and a new lifestyle. When I told to my family about it, they supported my decision, because it is what I really want to do. I have always been the little of my family, so this is a great opportunity to show them that I am responsible, mature and independent enough to go abroad alone, and to live by myself. Later I would like to study English Translation and Interpretation at University.

I have many different hobbies like fashion, dancing, music. I like shopping, meeting my friends, riding in bike, reading fashion magazines and going to cinema. I haven't traveled to many places, but I love traveling, meeting new people, new customs and lifestyles, so being an au pair would be a great experience for me.

The reason why I would like to be an au pair is because I love children. Children are the most beautiful thing in the world, they are able to encourage anyone with their innocence and enthusiasm. I enjoy looking after my lovely nephews. Furthermore, I have been taking care of children in ____ (_____ _____ ______ ___________) as a volunteer. I decided to be a volunteer, because I thought that it could make me to grow up as person, and I could get very enriching experiences from it. Another reason why I want to work as an au pair is because I love English, I think it is a beautiful lenguage. Also, english is very important nowadays to work, because everywhere, to do any job, it is necessary, so I would really want to improve my english.

I have experience looking after children from 6 months up to 11 years old. At present, I usually take care of my neighbor, who is an 11-year-old little girl. I help her with her homework, I cook the dinner for her, I help her to shower, etc. She is like a little sister for me. I have also looked after my lovely nephews, two kids who are 4 months and 3 years old. I used to wake up the children, have breakfast together, help them to get dressed and go to the park with them.

I consider myself a kind, empathic and funny person. I am a very responsible and hardworking girl. That is why I am the perfect applicant to be your next au pair and to look after your children. We could have so much fun together and learn from each other. I am very excited about this, so I hope to hear from you as soon as possible.

PD: En la carta pone que tengo 18 años, porque ya seré mayor de edad para cuando mi perfil esté activo en el AuPairRoom. Aún estoy a tiempo de hacer modificaciones, así que si tenéis alguna sugerencia, algo que me pueda faltar, agradecería vuestros consejos :)
